A 5 No. coal crusher (coal disintegrator) reduces coal lumps to fine particles below 2 mm, the size needed for charging coke ovens and firing boilers. Mild steel hammers mounted on a rotating disc strike the coal until it is fine enough to leave the machine. The single disc body is 12 mm fabricated steel and the double disc 16 mm, both with manganese steel top and side liner plates, and both have replaceable hammers.
The difference is capacity. The Single Disc crusher has one disc with 6 hammers, takes lumps up to 150 mm and crushes 8 to 12 tons per hour with an 80–120 HP motor. The Double Disc crusher has two discs with 12 hammers, takes lumps up to 200 mm and crushes 20 to 25 tons per hour with a 150–180 HP motor. Choose the single disc for moderate throughput and a smaller motor, and the double disc for large coke oven batteries, bigger boilers and briquetting plants.

We make the wear parts for every crusher we build, to the same drawings as the machine, so a replacement fits without cutting or machining on site. Each part below says which model it is for.
Mild steel hammers, changed through the side access door without dismantling the rotor. Inspect every 300 hours and turn the faces once the edges round off.
